Achievement Tests
Dear Parents/Guardians:
If your child in in Kindergarten - 2nd grade they are getting ready to take the Stanford Achievement Test. If your child is in grades 3-8 they will be taking the MAP (Missouri Assessment Program). These tests will be administered sometime between April 18-28th, 2017. Your child’s teacher will have an exact schedule of when your child will be taking the exam.
It is very important that your student perform his/her best on this assessment. You child may earn the privilege of going on a special field trip during the month of May if they try their best of the test and show a superior attitude during the weeks of the test.
It is very important to your child, as well as the school, that you support this activity. You can help your child do their best and earn the privilege by doing the following things:
Make sure your child gets plenty of rest during the weeks of the test.
Make sure your child east a full breakfast each morning.
Make sure your child is at school each day.
Make sure your child arrives at school on time each morning.
Do not schedule any appointments during school hours for your child during the test weeks.
Support your child by asking them about the test each evening.
Display a positive attitude when discussing the test with your child and let them know that they need to do their best!!!!
Avenue City School has a long standing tradition of doing well on these tests. I am sure we will continue. Thank you for your help to support academic achievement. If you have questions, please call school or email me.
Sincerely,
Becky Grimes
