Student Council

Our 9-member Avenue City Middle School Student Council, along with our StuCo advisor, Mrs. Beth Forney, had an incredible time attending the Missouri Association of Student Councils (MASC) Northwest District Meeting held at Staley High School today!

The day was packed with fun, leadership, and unforgettable memories. We were especially inspired by keynote speaker A’ric Jackson, whose powerful message encouraged us to give 110% in all we do and to always be our authentic selves. He reminded us not to hold back just because others might talk or criticize—he called those people “haters,” meaning they Have Attitude Toward Everyone’s Success!

We also participated in a variety of student-led workshops focused on building school spirit, planning fundraisers, increasing community outreach, and so much more. A fun and energetic dance with a fantastic DJ capped off the day, and we even had the opportunity to give back by creating dog toys for KC Pet Project as a service project.

Overall, it was a fabulous event! We left feeling motivated, empowered, and excited to bring new ideas back to our school. It was truly inspiring to connect with other middle and high schools from our region and see all the amazing things student councils are doing across northwest Missouri!
