At Avenue City R-IX School District, our students, staff, and community benefit every day from the countless hours devoted by the seven school board members in our community. These public servants are locally elected by our stakeholders and serve as a bridge between our school and community. They receive no compensation for their tireless efforts, yet they consistently step up to face the demanding challenges of public education.
“I am grateful for the leadership provided by our Board of Education. These individuals are more than just policymakers; they are dedicated neighbors who volunteer their time to ensure our district provides the best possible future for our children. Their commitment to our students and role as elected representatives ensures that the heart of our community remains at the center of every decision we make.”
Superintendent Grimes
During the month of March, our community joins the rest of the state in honoring these individuals during School Board Recognition Month, as proclaimed by Governor Kehoe. As the Governor noted, "Local school boards play a vital leadership role in providing our students with the finest possible education. We thank school board members for their commitment to their communities and to the students in their school districts across Missouri." We invite our families and staff to join us this month to express our sincere appreciation for their service and vision.
