Dear Parent/Guardian:
Avenue City R-IX School District is taking part in the Missouri School Climate and Culture Survey. Results from this survey will be used as part of the school improvement review during the 2025-2026 academic year. As part of this process, parents, students, and school employees are asked to voluntarily answer surveys regarding programs and services available to students.
Please take a few minutes to answer the survey at the link provided. Responses from all parents will be anonymously summarized and will become part of a report for the school district. The school district will use this report in the development of school improvement efforts.
If you have more than one child in school, please complete a survey for each child. The surveys will be processed so that school officials receive reports about each building in the district.
The questionnaires contain demographic and opinion questions. You have the option not to respond to any item or not to complete a survey at all.

Our Middle School scientists took center stage today as they shared their science presentations with our 4th graders!
This experience not only gave our younger students a peek at what’s ahead in their learning journey—it also helped our middle schoolers build confidence, communication skills, and pride in their hard work.
It’s always inspiring to see students teaching and learning from one another!

Come join Mrs. Byergo our Parents As Teachers coordinator at this BIG event!

We’re hoping the Tuesday/Thursday Preschool individual pictures turned out a little better than this! 🤪
Even when they’re making funny faces, they’re still one adorable bunch! 📸❤️

🌾 Our kindergarten students were blessed with beautiful weather and a fun-filled day at the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead! ☀️🐮 From feeding animals to exploring the farm, smiles and laughter were everywhere.
"Life is better on the farm — where memories grow like crops in the sunshine." 🌻

Friday Smiles
This morning our elementary students received a visit from Savannah High school Students! The younger ACES were all smiles as they greeted and high-fived their older role models.
Good luck to the Savannah Savages at tonight’s football game — your ACES fans are cheering you on! 🎉

👧 Tuesday/Thursday Preschool Group Photo
🎓 Student Council Group Photo

👩🏫 Staff – if you somehow escaped the first time, it’s your turn to shine!
💰 Three convenient ways for parents to pay:
1️⃣ Pre-order online on or before picture day.
2️⃣ Turn in an order form on picture day.
3️⃣ Order from proofs after picture day at www.jmcbee.com.
Bring your best smiles (and maybe double-check that your shirt isn’t on backwards this time 😉).

We know the calendar says autumn, but it sure doesn’t feel like it! 🍂☀️ Our students are soaking up the sunshine while they can and tailoring their learning to the beautiful weather. Come January, we’ll be wishing for days like this!

🌟 ACES High Flyers Character Program 🌟
This month our focus has been on the character trait Respect. Today, Principal Holcumbrink proudly recognized three students who consistently model respect in our school community. 💙💛
We are so proud of our ACES students for demonstrating what it means to treat others with kindness, consideration, and integrity. Way to go, High Flyers! ✈️👏

🎒🌾 Our 4th graders had a wonderful day exploring Ford’s Farm in Andrew County! Students enjoyed hands-on learning, outdoor fun, and experiencing one of our county’s beautiful public-use areas. 🐟🌳
Big thanks to the Andrew County Commission for maintaining such a valuable community space where students can learn and grow outside the classroom.

🍎🍂 Happy First Week of Fall! 🎃🍁
Our students dove headfirst into the new season this week with our "All Things Fall" theme! We're learning important concepts with hands-on fun, exploring everything from:
Apples: Counting, tasting, and even graphing our favorites!
Pumpkins: Measuring circumference and discussing lifecycles.
Leaves: Learning about color changes and the science of photosynthesis.
...and lots of seasonal fun that ties it all together!

Due to a staff professional development day, ACES will be closed on Friday, September 26, 2025. We'll be back on Monday, September 29.
There were so many students and families gathered at our school flagpole this morning for See You at the Pole! The national theme for this year, "Awe," based on Habakkuk 3:2, truly came to life as we stood together in prayer. It was an awesome sight to see our student leaders doing a fantastic job of organizing and leading this powerful event. What a great way to start the day and the school year!

Fight off the rainy day blues with Culver's Ice Cream! 🍦 Join the PTO tonight for some yummy treats and help support our school. We'll be there from 5:00 to 8:00 PM!
